Preliminary Task

Here is my groups Preliminary Task.

Although this is very short and brief, it beholds many features that we are looking to include within our final piece, therefore having done this specific preliminary task it has enabled us to experiment with different camera shots/angles & different filming techniques. Also, with the addition of a soundtrack it is again reflecting the genre of film we have chosen, Thriller.

Stereotypical Features of A Good Opening

Above, is a presentation that i have found stating the key features that should be found within a good opening sequence. It also has examples of different openings with different shots, giving the reasons as to why they are effective and make a good film opening.

Despite the fact that this presentation has been embedded and taken from somebody else, it gives me and the dons something to relate back to.

Potential Music Ideas

Above, is the theme tune to the classic Horror/Thriller , the Exorcist. Some of reasons as to why I personally think this theme tune is effective are, one because of the unwelcoming feel it gives to the audience instantly and it causes the viewer to anticipate what's going to happen next. Resulting in the audiences demand to see the film increase.

Above is a playlist including a variety of different film soundtracks, allowing me and Curtis to have a wide amount of different types of music to relate to and gain ideas from when it comes to creating our final piece, and inserting and choosing our own soundtrack.

Thriller Survey

Above is a brief survey that I have created in order to help me and Curtis gather as much information possible about our chosen genre.

Although this specific questionnare is very brief, the questions that are being asked are extremely relevant to our project.

Therefore if you would take the time to complete this survey, it would be very much appreciated.
